About MentalSkills

MentalSkills training works through both body and mind.
It is built on over 20 years of development in sports and dog handling.

A long background with a clear direction

MentalSkills is a clear and practical mental skills training brand. MentalSkills works with both body and mind to build clear, usable mental tools. At its core are mental and body-based skills that help people act more calmly, stay focused, and respond more consistently in everyday life, work, hobbies, and performance situations.

MentalSkills courses and tools are built on long-term development work carried out in sports and dog training over more than 20 years.

MentalSkills was not created quickly or for marketing purposes. It has grown through years of practical work and real-life experience. Since 2008, MentalSport coach education has been developed for different sports. For the past six years, we have trained mental coaches in the dog world together in Kannus. We have delivered live and online courses, coaching programs, and development processes for individuals, groups, and work communities.

Throughout this work, the focus has stayed the same: to make mental skills easy to understand, concrete, and usable when it actually matters.

At the moment, course invoicing is handled by Kouluttamo Future, and MentalSkills operates as an independent brand within this framework. The name MentalSkills is part of a future company structure and is not yet used as a separate legal entity.

Anne Talvitie

I work as a mental skills coach, developer, and educator, with a long background in building practical tools that help people function more clearly in demanding situations. What drives my work is a deep interest in how people think, feel, and act under pressure and how unnecessary obstacles can be removed so that natural capability can emerge. My work is guided by a simple principle: clarity creates freedom. When thinking becomes clearer and the body feels safer, people are able to use their skills more fully.

I am particularly interested in the interaction between body and mind, and in how small, well-placed changes can lead to meaningful shifts in performance, learning, and everyday experience. I approach mental skills with curiosity and critical thinking.

Research, testing, and continuous development are an essential part of my work. I actively follow developments in neuroscience, psychology, and learning, but I am not interested in theory for its own sake. Everything I use must be applicable in real situations and understandable to the person using it.

Through years of work as a coach, entrepreneur, and method developer, I have refined a set of tools that translate understanding into action. My focus is always on practicality: tools that can be used in the moment, under pressure, and without complexity. When people are surprised by their own progress, it is usually because something unnecessary has been removed rather than something new added.

Tytti Lintenhofer

I am a dog trainer, mental coach in the canine field, and above all, a human being deeply fascinated by the relationship between the dog and the handler in all its depth. My journey with dogs has taught me that true development is not built only through technique or repetition, but through trust, presence, and the way we meet both the dog and ourselves.

Dog training, goal-oriented practice, and competitive sport can at their best deepen self-awareness and understanding of working with a dog but at their worst, they can turn into exhausting performance. Supporting you in finding balance between these is at the core of my work.

I am a solution-focused coach, working extensively with mental skills, self-compassion, and emotional awareness. I believe that when the handler feels well and trusts themselves, the dog can also learn more easily and work with more relaxation and working together can feel lighter, meaningful, and rewarding.

In dog training, my key values are dog-centeredness, clarity, and a safe learning environment that makes success possible. I want both the dog and the handler to experience success and to progress at their own pace. Mistakes are not failures, but an essential part of learning. Through success, joy in working together is created.

I train human-dog teams internationally, combining technical skills, the interaction between human and dog, and mental skills. I am also involved in the international development of rally obedience and work as an international judge in several countries. This work has deepened my understanding of rally o, dog training, people, and different working cultures.
Despite all this or perhaps because of it what matters most to me is genuine connection.
